Hop Breeding Company LLC
In 2002, the Hop Breeding Company was formed by a joint venture between the breeding programs of John I. Haas and Select Botanicals Group LLC, with the goal of producing superior hop varieties with maximum efficiency. The pairing of these programs represents over 40 years of hop breeding experience for all segments of the brewing industry. Select Botanicals Group, as part of the Hop Breeding Company, has developed numerous breakthrough varieties (including Palisade®, Simcoe®, Ahtanum™, Citra® and Warrior®) which help fulfill the specific and evolving needs of the craft brewing industry.

The Country Malt Group
The Country Malt Group (CMG) is the bagged malt and specialty product distribution arm of Great Western Malting Company and Canada Malting Company LTD. It was founded in 1995, with the inception of North Country Malt Supply, by the father and son team of Claude and Bryan Bechard. Both Claude and Bryan remain active in the company as Bryan is the General Manager of The Country Malt Group across North America.

The County Malt Group’s primary goal is to be a one-stop source for craft brewers in the U.S. and Canada by offering bundling options that allow customers to minimize the landed costs of their required ingredients. CMG’s partnership with Hopunion was formalized by a joint marketing agreement in September, 2010. The agreement allows brewers the opportunity to purchase the full Hopunion selection and locally store their needs at any of CMG’s eight North American distribution points. By bundling hop purchases with malt shipments, customers can realize logistical benefits, such as decreased lead-times and transportation costs.

The Country Malt Group is the North American distributor for Great Western Malting Company (US), Canada Malting Company (CA), Thomas Fawcett & Sons (UK), Baird’s Malt (UK), Malteries Franco-Belges (FR), and BEST Malz (GR) and has eight distribution warehouses located throughout North America (Vancouver, WA, San Francisco, CA, Denver, CO, Chicago, IL, Champlain, NY, Hickory NC, Vancouver, BC, and Calgary, AB, Canada).

LD Carlson Company

Originally founded by Larry Carlson in 1970, LD Carlson Company began as a small retail location, Wines, Inc. Brewcraft USA
Portland, Oregon-based Brewcraft USA was originally founded As the wholesale division of one of the oldest homebrew supply stores in the US in 1995.  In 2005, a New Zealand based company acquired the wholesale division and Brewcraft USA was born. Since the beginning, Brewcraft USA has been a mainstay in the home brewing industry throughout the  western United States, offering a wide variety of premium local, imported and specialty ingredients and equipment for the production of beer, wine, cheese and distilled products. Brewcraft USA takes pride in offering excellent customer service and the highest quality in each of their products.

In 2010, Brewcraft USA became part of the Great Western Malting Company.  As part of the Great Western Malting family, Brewcraft USA has had the opportunity to expand an already strong relationship with Hopunion and offer co-branded packaging, marketing and customer service.
